Current location

🇨🇭 I am currently settled in the city of Basel, in Kleinbasel (the most hippy district in Switzerland). You are always welcome to visit!

🇨🇭 My office is at Spiegelgasse 1, 4051, Basel-Stadt, Switzerland.

🏇 My nomad timeline

My ancestors, Ural Bashkirs and Tatars, used to be nomads, so naturally, the nomad spirit lives in my blood. Here are the locations where I have resided for a decent period of time:

🇫🇷 South of France (October 2025)

This month was my break between my Master’s and PhD. I spent it WWOOFing on farms in the South of France. I spent the first two weeks in the south of Northern Catalonia (at La Ferme Musicale in the village of Elne and in Banyuls-sur-Mer). The last two weeks I spent on a remote farm, Le Jardin de Myrtilles, close to the village of Le Plan-de-la-Tour.

🇫🇷 Paris (September 2024 - September 2025)

I resided in the Paris metropolitan area for the duration of my Master 2 in Optimization studies at Université Paris-Saclay.

14th arrondissement (September 2025)

The last weeks of my life in Paris were spent at my friend Theo’s place, while he was on vacation. He said: “It makes me uncomfortable that my flat stays empty in such an overpopulated area as Paris.” I will remember rue Daguerre with warmth—the street where Agnès Varda lived and worked, and it seems Jimi Hendrix also enjoyed it.

Cachan (July 2025 – August 2025)

Every year, for the last six weeks of summer, the RATP completely disrupts the traffic of the RER B in the south of Paris. This was so annoying for me that I decided to move closer to Paris. I lived in a flat-share with nice neighbors, but the house and area were simply not for me.

Bures-sur-Yvette (September 2024 – July 2025)

I stayed in a CROUS dorm at Bâtiment 233 of the charming Paris-Saclay campus. It was a great area with lots of greenery, beautiful tennis courts, and the forest with my boar homies 🐗. During my stay, my dorm was flooded, which was one of the craziest experiences of my life. In the area, I loved to visit the village of Gif-sur-Yvette, which is my favorite place in the Paris area and definitely a place to return to.

🇸🇦 KAUST, Thuwal (October 2023 – March 2024)

I completed a research internship at the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology in the village of Thuwal, Saudi Arabia. It was my first experience living in an international community. It was both a productive and breathtaking experience. I had the greatest road trips of my life there, with the incredible hospitality of the locals!

🇦🇲 Yerevan (July 2023 – September 2023)

I lived in the Arabkir district of Yerevan during my internship at WorldQuant. It was my first experience living abroad. A local friend of my family, Arkadiy, helped me a lot with finding an apartment and other advice. The food was great, the nature was beautiful (I will never forget hiking Aragats, the highest mountain in Armenia), and the people were very kind and hospitable. I have since returned to Armenia for a vacation and will definitely return in the future.

🇷🇺 Moscow (September 2020 – August 2024)

Dolgoprudny

I lived on campus during my studies at MIPT. It was an unforgettable experience living with my friends in the 2nd and 12th dormitories. It was great while studying there, but I have no reason to return to that cursed place.

Shchukino district, Moscow (January 2022)

During finals, my friends Kostya, Artur, and I tested positive for COVID-19. We went to the university doctor, who told us we couldn’t stay in the dorm during quarantine; we either had to go to an overcrowded COVID hospital or isolate elsewhere. Artur randomly found a flat to rent from a Telegram chat—the owner was leaving for a three-week vacation and wanted to sublet it. We isolated in that flat just before the events of February 2022, after which everyone stopped caring about COVID.

🇷🇺 Chelyabinsk (March 2002 – August 2020)

Tsentralny district, Chelyabinsk

From birth, I lived in the Tsentralny district of Chelyabinsk, first on Enthusiast Street and then on Sonya Krivaya Street. I lived there with my parents, my younger brother, my younger sister, and our cat.

Village of Dubrovka, Chelyabinsk region

For some time, especially during the summer, I visited my grandparents in the village of Dubrovka, a 40-minute drive from Chelyabinsk.

Competitive math summer camps

During my middle and high school years, I traveled extensively to study in competitive math summer camps. I still attribute most of my mathematical skills to being developed during those times. The camp locations included: Solnechnaya Polyana in Kashtak, Hotel Regina in Kazan, the Vishkil summer camp, Sosnovaya Gorka on Lake Yelovoye, and Zvezdny on Lake Akakul.
